In his book “As You Wish,” Cary Elwes has some great stories about going out drinking with André during the filming of The Princess Bride. Pretty funny — and scary how much a guy that big can drink.

I heard a story on a sports talk radio about Andre needing to, well, have a bowel movement on a long airplane flight. Hilarious to hear, not so great to be a fellow passenger.

Reports of softball sized hail! Yikes

One hailstorm is bad enough, but a trio of hailstorms striking three metropolitan areas in one night is almost unheard of. Baseball- to softball-size hail pummeled parts of Texas and Oklahoma on Wednesday night, slamming places around Fort Worth, San Antonio and Oklahoma City, including Norman.

The damage will almost certainly exceed $1 billion. Hail has historically been the most costly severe weather hazard in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and Wednesday night’s storms illustrate why.

Those wonderful folks up in D-town have us beat when it comes to hail.

I’ve been very happy that I’ve not pursued paths (management consultant, doctor) of my close friends who legit work 60-80 hour weeks most weeks, sometimes more.

I’ve had weeks like that but they’re the exception.

Where is the DBR time in a schedule like that?!?!
Like actual honest to goodness stuff that is job related: 25 hours a week.

Mom had to freeze them on the drive up from SC coast but they turned out good. Tossed in flour and spices, pan-fried in butter and oil. Had one on a bun with siracha mayo and one on its own. Good stuff and tis the season.

I posted this in the push-up thread but just in case you missed it: our very own ClemmonsDevil is taking a swing at 20,000 push-ups in 12 hours. Why? Because the rent is due!

Nah, more power to you. I've never worn hours worked as a badge of honor. Thought the point was to avoid them but maybe I learned the wrong lessons growing up.

Hahaha! I have done 12,000 this month and that seems nuts to me!

There cannot be more than one North Carolina man doing an irrational number of push-ups! Thought it had to be you!

It is very windy this morning.

More rain expected the next couple of days. I need to get out in my yard and rake up all the detritus that collected when it got hit by a couple inches of rain in less than an hour. All the loose twigs and thatch got collected and deposited in small mounds.

I am only going to note the phenomenon that, like many others, the DBR board is very very busy during "work" hours and much less so on evenings and weekends when one might (erroneously) suppose that people have more time to post.

    I’m in the “those aren’t push-ups” camp.
