Egg salad can destroy relationships if consumed in confined spaces…say, a road trip.

It is more fun if you are not the wanker I bet.

If you come into a family and you’re not sure who the wanker is does that mean it’s you?

Yes. 100%. But you have never had that happen I bet.

I think I might be the wanker in my wife’s family.

Exactly. I’m pretty sure a few people in my extended family have a different definition of wanker and I’m it even though everyone here knows I’m delightful.

You know what's hard to pull off? A William Faulkner joke.

As I Lay Dying. It’s not often a book title so perfectly describes my experience reading it.

The only literary suicide less sympathetic than Quentin Compson's is Konstantin Gavrilovich Treplev's.

I suppose that's not a joke, but drowning yourself because your sister has sex is at the very least ridiculous.

Googling. But I could see the reaction if the guy was me.

Quentin Compson is a character in The Sound and the Fury.

"The fact is, Konstantin Gavrilovich has shot himself" is the last line of The Seagull, by Anton Chekov. I love Chekov, but he does not give us a good enough reason to care about the fate of Kostya. My reaction is always, "Finally!" Every other character in The Seagull is compelling. Kostya is a pompous bore.

I knew compson. Never read the seagull although I like Chekhov too. Forgive the talk-to-text.

I guess for me it is Richard Corey. Down with the bourgeoisie.
