I mean, I could've been dismissive of beer.

    You serve ham then?

I would accept that. OPK isn't really a beer lover I think. Or likes others drinks more. So many people like wine more. I like beer, but I am a traditionalist with beer so I don't really read the Yum beer thread much anymore.

The pandemic was a good excuse for me to give up alcohol.

We do turkey and ham, but I try to get them to grill ribeyes. I used to love turkey, but swearing off carbs ruined it for me. I figured out the star was the stuffing, not the turkey. I see why people love the stuffing, turkey, cranberries, gravy thing. Whole lot of delicious in that bite of food.

I drink waaaaaay less the last 3 or 4 years. Almost never at home. I do love sampling microbreweries when I travel. But never more than 2 or 3. Ever. And no liquor ever. Lightweight.

Makes you cutting against the tide. Sounds like recreation and problem imbibing have both generally been up during the pandemic.

Streaming Treehouse of Horror X with my daughter and giggling about it as we speak with her in Tuscaloosa and me in NC. Such a great episode.

I did give a final report on the contents of my husband's liquor cabinet, yes? Anyway, when he returned from Maryland, I gave him his birthday scotch (went for a Speyside this year) Craigellachie. I haven't sampled it yet. Maybe I'll go do that right now.

Only if he's opened it first. Then swap contents with some of the Famous Grouse and see if he notices.

I'm busy watching a Vandy team with zero players who score more than 9ppg available to play.

Each has a season and appropriate context.

Outdoors, day, or casual gathering usually equals beer.

Meal, evening, indoors, or formal usually equals wine or spirits.

Beef is the Grand Central Station of drinks. Each one works perfectly.

Depending on the beef delivery system. A burger, barbacoa tacos, a ribeye each demand very different accompaniments.
