Other people can claim to be absolutely no help. But this group can demonstrate it. This group walks the walk by actively not helping.

Do you know any architects? If so, they might be a good resource.

If you have not read “The Devil and the White City” I highly recommend.

Better idea than eggs. CollectTrumpCards.com. These will make nice stocking stuffers.

Our local alternative newspaper (way better than the daily rag) gives our reader awards every year for all kinds of stuff, restaurants, landscape companies, etc and I got some names from there...yeah, you definitely want an established company with a track record...I'm sure you have them there because corporations need that kind of work done all the time...

    googleage got me this:https://www.houzz.com/professionals/...t/c/Durham--NC

Architect is a popular profession in Hallmark movies.

Not as popular as prince, but then what is? In Hallmark movies.

Maybe try the audio book if you do long walks?

(I tend to do this more than pleasure reading tbh because my job makes reading unfun).

Good call out budwom. I've looked at houzz for local professionals in several areas as I've contemplated moving over the last couple of years. To have a great build you really need a landscape architect and an architect for the home who is familiar with what you are trying to accomplish. For me it is near Passive House standards.

Sorry, went off on a tangent there.

Well, I try not to hold my Princely status over everyone.

People do tend to get upset.

Unexpected bonus going with a landscaper: he left the price tags on from the nursery (all the shrubs, trees, etc)...had I done the work myself (ack, not possible) I would have spent as much money as paying the landscaper, i.e. the discount he got on the plants seems to be about equal to what he charged to install everything...he had SO many good idea...

Oh, I totally agree. I really appreciate those who are astute enough to realize how great I am without having to see all the titles, money, houses, planes, etc.

    I'm humble that way.

Perhaps talk to someone at the Sarah Duke Gardens. They may have some recommendations.
