Our local alternative newspaper (way better than the daily rag) gives our reader awards every year for all kinds of stuff, restaurants, landscape companies, etc and I got some names from there...yeah, you definitely want an established company with a track record...I'm sure you have them there because corporations need that kind of work done all the time...

Good call out budwom. I've looked at houzz for local professionals in several areas as I've contemplated moving over the last couple of years. To have a great build you really need a landscape architect and an architect for the home who is familiar with what you are trying to accomplish. For me it is near Passive House standards.

Unexpected bonus going with a landscaper: he left the price tags on from the nursery (all the shrubs, trees, etc)...had I done the work myself (ack, not possible) I would have spent as much money as paying the landscaper, i.e. the discount he got on the plants seems to be about equal to what he charged to install everything...he had SO many good idea...
