someone educate me: what is "on campus recruitng?" is that like arranging campus visits and stuff? I don't expect it's recruiting players from the student body to play on the team...or recruiting students to show up for games.

You've got it right, I think. My understanding is that it would entail coordinating visits and possibly some involvement with camps and such.

As opposed to the person coordinating coaches traveling around the country to scout and visit recruits.

Kai Brashears is Director of On-campus recruiting and communications at Minnesota, though she has only been there since May 2021.

She stayed longer than I would have. Brrrrrrr!!!!

Well this is all happening quickly. We are apparently targeting Maryland's WR coach Zohn Burden. Spent 5 years at VT before that (1 as WR and 4 as RB coach). Virginia native with deep ties in the state it appears.

Well, that Tweet had bren deleted and Carina is no longer listed on the staff directory, so it appears this may not have panned out (appears Brashears is still on board which is good news IMO).

Ish Aristide is a fantastic hire, too, per Pete Thamel report. Strong recruiter with deep ties in south Florida as well as TX, and the exactly sort we need to expand the footprint.

Duke's official welcome. CBs haven't been a bright spot in some time, and that may be an understatement given your forgiveness of a receiver being 10 yards away from the closest defender. Very hopeful that changes!

Aristide and Elko served on the defensive staff together at Texas A&M University from 2019-20, helping the Aggies to a two-year ledger of 17-6 and victories in the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl and Capital One Orange Bowl. Aristide was a senior defensive analyst and secondary assistant during his time in College Station.

- special teams
- offensive line
- wide receivers

And then
- defensive tackle
- corners
- TE

would slot into one other coach or the other 8?

Robb Smith: DC/LBs
Trooper Taylor: RBs
Ishmael Aristide: CBs
Harland Bower: DEs
Patrick Dougherty: Special Teams/TEs
Lyle Hemphill: Safeties

Leaving the un-coached positions as OL, WRs, and DT, with 2 coaching spots left. So I would assume that one of the coaches MUST be a WR coach, and I would think the other is OL. Poor DTs.

I said we had the staff wrapped up days ago so I have also been confused about this, to be clear.

That’s where Sean Spencer’s hiring comes in. He’s the DL coach, right?

hardland bower is listed as the DE coach. so it would make sense if Sean were taking DT. None of this has been reported by duke, but it seems the internet also suggested him as co-DC...which would make sense if he were then taking on only DTs intead of the whole line.

But we should wait for confirmation from duke probably.
