See, I don’t trust people with two first names so he’d be an unreliable narrator for me.

Would be interested in your approach to swordfish - seasoning, heat, timing, etc...?

Since it is always top quality swordfish, I do absolutely nothing to it. It's usually an inch thick or a wee bit more...I just use very high heat, five minutes per side, voila! Serve with a wedge of lemon...

Every once in a while I sprinkle on just a bit or dressing before grilling (olive oil, balsamic vinegar, seasonings)...just for a change.

Your preferred center - cooked through, still cool?

I like my swordfish cooked all the way thru, and ten minutes (at high heat) does that for me. OTOH, we do like some pink in our salmon, so I could that a few minutes less...and then with tuna, even more rareness, only 5-6 minutes tops per inch.

How old do kids need to be for Tolkien? 16 months is too young but I’m already wearing out on brown bear.

Have you tried the Polar Bear?

I think I read that to Nephew Alex 20,000 times sitting on the tarmac in Tampa when he was 3. I think the people around us cheered when we took off and I was able to quit reading it to him.

Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb. Best book for a 16-month-old ever. In our house it was an "active read" book, involving considerable knee-bouncing.

Well. At least your wife isn't 7 months pregnant or anything.

They only made it part of the way through the old animated LOTR, IIRC. I remember watching it as a kid and being surprised by the ending. Specifically, when it occurred in the story!
