No need, I can get all the Heady Topper and other Alchemist beers right in our local market...looking to drink outside the box a bit tonight, see what the cooler offers up...beer played a big role in getting thru the pandemic, at least thus far...5:30 cocktail hour each night was a BIG event for my wife and me.

You are a lucky man when Heady Topper is a Gas Station/Grocery Store Beer...

Such a nice afternoon to be outside, taking a walk, conversing with family, sipping a beer or visiting your local zoo; or all the above.

Our younger son-in-law placed a 6er of Cabin Fever in the cart as we checked out as his treat and we just shared one on their patio beside a fire pit. More later.

This was a nice change of pace from the hazies, as it had more of a West Coast feel. Best enjoyed in West Coast weather, and it might as well have been. Gorgeous patio beer at Hops Burger bar (highly recommended if you're in Winston). Golden clear yellow with a piney aroma. Nice medium to full feel. Plenty of pine bitterness balanced well with some grapefruit, but very pleasant. More of a sipper, but thoroughly drinkable and refreshing.

It's not just for breakfast any more.

    Category 2. Well done Incendiary.
A bit surprised you liked the Galaxy hops in it after the New Grass (?) brew we had last year.

Lawson's Finest Liquids? Heady Topper? Some "leftover" Hill Farmstead?

Mine was still plenty fresh to give a fair rating.

When I first looked at the beer in the brown, unopened bottle, I thought maybe the beer had tipped over in my car and fizzed through the whole bottle. Nope, it's supposed to look that way - it's just that hazy.

It's a gorgeous beer in the glass. Glowing Maize-colored Haze. Thin white, lacy head clings to the glass. The aroma steals the show. Fresh-ruby red grapefruit from Texas or Indian River Florida and tropical Hops. Creamy, juicy mouthfeel melts in your mouth. Soft carbonation, but certainly enough.

I don't get much bitterness. The taste follows the nose - grapefruits, oranges, grassy, with a hint of pineapple on the finish.

Mid Category 3 in a very tough category.

    Thanks ClemmonsDevil!
Sounds pretty similar to my impressions (from memory).

Actually, I/we got a bit lucky as Tripel 5 was not listed as "available" on the New Glarus beer finder at Woodman's but I saw several 4 packs in the cooler and started putting them in the cart. An employee then asked if we wanted them at room temperature and pointed out the few 4 packs they had left so we replaced all the cold ones and filled a case with the ones from their New Glarus "mountain" of brews.

I've found I really enjoy Galaxy hops, but only when used by a brewer who does it right. I did not like that New Grass beer, you're right. That one for me just tasted like it had been over-hopped to cover up not the best beer.

New Glarus brews are also very well placed in many, many gas stations/convenience stores all along Wisconsin's borders. No other stories need to be told along those lines.

May I pass that comment along to Mrs. dd WRT shopping, yard work, special occasions, events, etc?

(Even if you say "yes," however, I'm not sure she'd believe you but I'm comforted at least. )
