“Oh, Well” is better than anything they wrote during the pop years. I’ll fight the man who says otherwise.

My wife informed me of this minutes ago.

    Agree with OPK; great song.

Here's a pretty good rendition by another pretty good band:

Green also wrote "Black Magic Woman," which became one of Santana's better-known songs.

I haven't heard this since I was a kid. Great tune.

Not bad, but I'm partial to The Rockets' version, which pre-dates Tom Petty's by decades*, and IMO the arrangement from which the Heartbreakers borrow heavily.

With respect to Green, it's worth reading up on the incident in Munich, and hearing what Mick, and especially John, had to say about it in interviews. Pardon the word choice but it really seemed to be heartbreaking for them.

    * The TP concert in the YT video was from 2006; I'm implicitly assuming TP & the HBs haven't been doing it since the mid 70s or something. Perhaps not a good assumption ... but I still like the Rockets' version better.

Agreed. It usually takes one or two chords of any latter FMac songs to make me lash out and change the radio. Can't stand their drivel songs.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

Let's not forget, "Green Manalishi", which latter became a staple for Judas Priest.
