It indicates more about what kind of places I got to know growing up, some of which were not exactly new construction. And the fact that my father had a very good vocabulary and could tell me what they were. I didn't know the word actually related to jealousy, though, so thanks for that article.

we had some installed in our porch in the 1950s...very avant garde! (I didn't know about the connection to jealousy, either, of course)
