It's not about being right, it's about saying you are going to be right with flair!

Interstellar... I really should have won a pie on that one.
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

I am fairly sure it is not going to make the top 3, but the stuff I a seeing about Mission Impossible: Fallout really shows a production that is impressive. Check this out:

    Enjoyed it

It appears the second weekend for Solo is going to be something like $26 million. That's close to 70% off from its opening weekend, a staggering drop, even for a front-loaded film. Whew... I think Solo is only going to limp its way to about $225 million at this point, maybe less. Wow...

-Jason "there is a decent chance Ant Man, Mission Impossible, or Oceans 8 will beat it... color me stunned" Evans
Saw the movie with a group of 5 and all enjoyed it. However I doubt anyone would need to see it twice.

Jason, have you seen Hereditary? I read a review that makes me think it might be enjoyable for people (like me) who don’t care for the typical slasher horror flick. Curious to hear your opinion.

I have not seen it yet. I am really not a fan of horror movies and the early marketing made this seem like a typical horror flick. Then, I started to read some stuff and heard it was something much more, but by then it was too late for me to catch a screening. Sorry.

I tell ya, the horror genre has really turned out some amazing stuff lately. Get Out and A Quiet Place are easily two of the best films made in the past couple years. It is a bit of a pity when folks (like me!!) miss out on quality movies because they get labelled with a horror tag despite the film being far removed from the gross-out/slasher/torture-porn we have come to expect from the horror genre in recent years.

-Jason "Hereditary is at 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, not much behind A Quiet Place (95%) and Get Out (99%). And Metacritic has Get Out at 84, A Quiet Place at 82, and Hereditary at 87" Evans

I'm seeing it Thursday. I'll let you all know.

I saw Oceans 8 last night... it was pretty meh. Not bad, but not all that good either. Much worse than Oceans 11 and 13, but perhaps a bit better than the really muddled Oceans 12. My son and I spent the entire car ride home talking about all the totally nonsensical and stupid aspects to the caper at the center of the plot... which is not a good sign. I did chuckle a few times, but not as much as in other Oceans films.

Hey! Picking on me for Interstellar is no fair. I didn't have it in my top 5, and then it had a mediocre opening weekend, and I said there was no way it would break the top 5, and then it just kept holding onto its audience. Took it several weeks, and the movie did what very few movies have done in the last 15 years, which is have no major drop off after the first month. I'm still surprised that if ended up doing as well as it did (mainly because it was long, and I thought a little boring / overly dramatic - with an inanely dumb ending).

If you want to rip on my movie picking prowess...point out that I didn't pick Wonder Woman to make the Top 5. Or that I didn't pick Black Panther to make the Top 5. Those were bad decisions. Interstellar, I just got unlucky. : - )

Interstellar is in my solidly "Watch once every 5 years" list. If even that. It was cool, but I don't get how it survived for so long.
If it came on tomorrow, and Zoolander 2 was on another channel, I'd flip back and forth between Z2 and the home shopping network.

I could watch Interstellar everyday for the rest of my life. Phenomenal movie.

Oceans 8 with a nice $41 mil. Not enough to be a contender but the film will make good money for Warner (it had a modest $70 mil budget).

Solo dropped another 49% and made $15.1 mil. It now stands at $176.1 million and has a 0% chance of being in the top 3.

Deadpool 2 showing fairly good legs, only fell 41% this weekend and made $13.6 million. It is at $278 million and will easily top $300 mil, probably ending up around $330 mil in total. That could be good enough to be in the top 3.

    Current standings:

    1. Avengers: Infinity War - $654.7 mil
    2. Deadpool 2 - $278.6 mil
    3. Solo - $176.1 mil
    4. Book Club - $56.8 mil
    5. Life of the Party - $50.2 mil

"No one has ever lost a Top Movies contest by picking a Star Wars film" - said every one who picked Solo.
