For those watching the ESPN broadcast, was it me or was Lavin trying to use every sports cliche ever invented?

I'm watching without sound, but as a UCLA fan I've never had any respect for Lavin. I think that he uses all the cliches because he doesn't actually know what is going on out there sometimes.

he is ON and playing so great tonight and it's wonderful to see this. we sorely need his scoring!

right now, this is a great test for Duke and while I think we'll prevail (up by six now), it's going to be tight going down the stretch.

That technical reminded me of the Dog Whisperer. The little dog starts it, but the big dog gets in trouble when he finishes it. (Paulus started kicking his feet unnecessarily IMHO).
