I got 4.5 inches of rain at my house on Saturday.

  2. #19762
Only at 3" here so far but still going. We average 2.5" for the month of August normally.

  3. #19763
Finished at 4 inches total yesterday. I may need to run my sprinklers today.

    Really? (No, not really.)

So, is 99.49% of the eclipse close enough or should I try to find a parking spot 15 miles north to see 100%? Discuss, please.

Had a discussion with an astronomer from the local observatory about this, because I am in the same boat. His advice was that you can see the corona at 100%, but not 99.9%. So his strong suggestion was to make the drive.

    FWIW.

I'm going to see if I can sit in a friend's yard that will have the total eclipse for around 1.5 minutes. I don't want to fight a lot of traffic in a location where thousands go.

I am in the same boat. I have decided that it is good enough for me - mostly because I have no desire to spend most of a Monday sitting in traffic on a remote 2 lane road for a three minute experience.

I don't fault anyone that does, just not my bag.

We are in the 67% range here. So nothing really planned.

    Back in Vegas... again.
Doing my Snoopy happy dance for Tre Jones. Since I'm dancing, I thought it better to post here than on the EK Board thread.

Side note: I did a Snoopy happy dance in my office last week for something that happened at work. I don't Snoopy happy dance often, but twice in less than a week...

Yeah! Glad it came through - did you have to reach someone at the IRS or did it just finally get through the process?
