30-40 gathered at my grandmother's very small home. It's always...interesting.
It used to be more until my great grandmother passed away a few years ago at the age of 98.
We, as many do, have an annual football game in the back yard. Last year was the first year that I was noticeably not one of the better players on the field anymore as my 16 and 17 year old nephews are really starting to impose their will. I can still beat them with footwork and just a touch of mean-old-man dirty play, but they just wait for me to tire and run past me. My uncles sit on the sideline and remind me every play that my time has come to pass the torch, much like I made them do when I was 16-17. They pat an empty lawn chair beside them in their semi-circle as they sip their Miller High Life,saying "Come on, it's waiting for you!!. Got you a spot picked out riiiiight here!!!
