Is Tahoe warm enough right now? Or are you looking for cold?
I'm not a West Coaster any more, but I've done short vacays out there. Are you sure Tahoe is what you want in the winter? It's going to be COLD.
Have you considered flying down to San Diego? Las Vegas? Cabo? They're a lot of fun.
Tahoe is fun if you like snow. I prefer Tahoe in the summer.
Yes.
Rather than discuss the mystery of Bubbies, you simply MUST check out their web site:
http://www.bubbies.com/
You can also see where to get them (see Whole Foods).
Arkie: Neither Schnucks nor Dierberg's. Try Whole Foods.

Priceless!

I don't mind snow - haven't had much of an opportunity to enjoy it around here - I've usually been on the ski slopes about 5 times by now, but have just been too crazed with work. Hence the need to get away.
I'm toying with Vegas, but I know Mr. DA wouldn't be cool with spending much time in casinos, and that's about all I know in Vegas. (And I'm not a shopper, so no interest in hitting the big malls.)
Don't know much about what to do in SD or Cabo - any tips?
Vegas: The last family vacay we took before the big D was in Vegas. We stayed at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay which has great pools for the kids (wave pool, river pool, lagoon pools) and they were working on another pool that my Ex would have really enjoyed. The Hotel also has a shark tank aquarium. We took the kids to Hoover Dam, took them to see Mama Mia, went to an amusement park, watched the fountains at The Bellagio and ate a lot. I wish I'd taken them on a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. As far as casinos go, I'm the only one who played the slots, and I won--actually tithed my winnings back to my church. The shopping is fabulous--I got a beautiful Nevada charm bracelet at Brighton at Caesar's.
San Diego: The Zoo. Don't miss it. It's world class. There's also Sea World. And while I don't necessarily recommend it, a trip into Tijuana is an adventure. The museums in Balboa Park are nice. And then there are the beaches--check out Coronado and LaJolla. Have tea or happy hour at the Hotel del Coronado. It's a beautiful old hotel. Walk through Old Town and have dinner in the Gaslamp Quarter.
Cabo: We went there during Carnaval and enjoyed nightly parades where the participants tossed cans of beer off the floats to the spectators (US!). Seriously. A mariachi band serenaded us every morning at breakfast by the pool which overlooked the Sea of Cortez. We watched the whales migrating north. DEEP SEA FISHING! Dinner on the beach! Party at Cabo Wabo, Sammy Hagar's club. We went out on a giant catamaran and I got to drive the boat--just ask the captain, he'll let you do it. There's also lots of golf. Did I mention the beer? The margaritas? The food? You will love Cabo.
I need chocolate.
What a day. Those of you on FB, my status says it all.
Thanks, CathyCA, for the reco's! I'll have to discuss with Mr. DA when he gest home.
I'm watching a semi-entertaining Vandy-UK game tonight (need a bball fix.) Go 'dores!
If you're up late or on the west coast and you get Game Show Network, you can watch me NOT win bit on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' right now.
Just saw the big news about Jimmy Spanarkel on the homepage. My first thought was, "ILJ must be thrilled!"
