Hmmm...12 years is a bit of a difference but if you didn't know them from before it is a bit easier not to see them as a kid. There is a certain line that gets crossed somewhere in the mid-20's as far as maturity goes IMHO. Some people cross it early, others don't cross it ever.

He was always mature, but he was our intern. I don't live/work in Grey's Anatomy.

I'm on FB at the moment & am currently being hit on by a 25 year old who was a student when I worked at one of my previous jobs at a university. This is weird.
