Oh the obscure pop culture references.
Oh the obscure pop culture references.
I wrote a play about an artist one time. It has the line "You aim for Picasso and you wind up Leroy Neiman!"
When I workshopped it, only about 2 people got that joke. I was told several times that I should take it out because hardly anybody was going to get it. I stubbornly left it in, because, well, I put it in for those 2 people in the first place.
Sure Sue although I'm shutting it down. But first I have to go check my post total.
OK, I'm now 21 posts in 4th place. That's enough for tonight.
Hmmm...12 years is a bit of a difference but if you didn't know them from before it is a bit easier not to see them as a kid. There is a certain line that gets crossed somewhere in the mid-20's as far as maturity goes IMHO. Some people cross it early, others don't cross it ever.
I love stuff like that! Count me in the group of people would wouldn't get the joke but would be curious enough to go find out. I mentioned earlier that I was a huge fan of Gilmore Girls, and it was because of all the rapid-fire dialog and obscure pop culture references.
