Off-track betting...at least that is my submission.
My wife bought the shamwow and mailed it to her father. Too funny.
I love my yaktrax! We've had a bit of ice in CT the last 48 hours. This morning I took my puppy for a run on the ice. She has APD (all paw drive) and I have the yaktrax.
Run for fun on the cold cold ice!![]()
I always thought "snarf" meant inhaling food, not exhaling it.
tr.v. snarfed, snarf·ing, snarfs Slang
To eat or drink rapidly or eagerly; devour: snarfed down some cookies.

And "spew" is the reverse, e.g. "I spewed Dogfish 90-Minute IPA through my nose when I read Earljam's latest poll on nose hair."
Now I will go snarf some pastrami for lunch and clean up afterwards with a ShamWow...
You may be right. Right now I'm snarfing my can of Slim-Fast for lunch. I'd much rather be snarfing the pastrami, but having already done that the past couple of weeks, I'm now having the Slim-Fast.
Last night at Tyler's Pub (dinner with DD) they had the Dogfish 60-Minute IPA, 90-Minute IPA, and some brown ale "raisin" on special. I sampled each one and chose the brown ale. DD had a 1/2 pint of the 60-Minute and then a 1/2 pint of the brown ale. He'll review in more detail in the Ymm Beer thread. We got to keep the glasses the brews were served in.
Man does not live by Slim-Fast alone.![]()

The judges will accept that definition.
However, I believe popular usage of Snarf is now equivalent to the top-rated definition on urbandictionary.com:
snarf -
when one is eating and is provoked by something funny which causes them to laugh and expel said food out of nasal passages; may also come out of mouth. also applies to liquids.
dood i was eating my lunch at school and this chick said somethign hilarious and i totally snarfed sandwich all over the place
DA - are you safe from the flooding in the northwest?
LOVE Pastrami!! (especially at the Carnegie Deli in NYC).
But I ask (again, I think) what IS the longest thread ever? Have we reached it, surpassed it? Just curious.
I'm not sure it can be reached. Even if your post had put the thread over whatever mythological count there is for the longest thread ever, this post has now surpassed that. Therein lies the fun of the thread.

We're good, thanks for your concern - both home and work are on relatively high ground.![]()
I went into Trader Joe's last night, and its bread and produce sections were completely barren - apparently, it hasn't been getting delivery trucks since the passes and now I-5 from Portland are closed. Good thing we have a seaport!![]()
Glad to know that you are on high and relatively dry land. If you need a care package - let us all know.
There is just lots of weird weather things going on. A friend's daughter was evacuated from her house in CO due to fire, my brother's place in NC is just a mile or so from the house that slid down the hill (with people in it), so I wasn't sure who else was experiencing weather hassles.
I hope all on the board are safe.
