Actually, you could put garlic and butter on anything and it would taste great. Even snails!!!

OMG, I quoted myself. What's the penalty for that?

OMG^2, I referenced penalties. What's the penalty for that?

Note to my favorite mods: I'm joking! Just a little jocularity.

Yes and sometimes I like to add some freshly chopped basil.

Occasionally, one has to quote their own thread in order to pad the post count. Did I just type that?

I did eat snail because the garlic butter sauce was soooooo good. Bread for dipping in it was a great addition. I even finished someone elses escargot. Just for the record, it was a set menu for the 5 course meals that week - I'm not sure I would have ordered escargot on my own.

Indeed you did, but it's really no secret.

Now that you've had it, will you have it again?

Who would ever try to pad their post count on this thread?

For lunch, I'm eating smokey navy bean soup from the building cafe. It's pretty tasty. Plus 15 grams of fiber! But now I'm desirous of pasta, butter, garlic, and freshly grated parmesan cheese.

Depends on the other appetizer options. The only dish that I wouldn't finish that week was the cold white asparagus salad. We finally started telling the 11 year old on the trip that all the meat was chicken so she would eat it.

HAHA great tactic. I've had cold white asparagus salad, it was yummy but I'd rather have it warm and without the salad and with the entire spear.

I'm not an asparagus fan and there wasn't enough taste to make it worthwhile. The rest of the meal was delicious. I figure one dish out of 35 is not a bad ratio. The chef was excellent that week.

The freebie offers for today are now being given whether you vote or not, to avoid violating federal anti-inducement laws.

I had heard that. Also, if you don't want coffee, apparently Starbucks will give you 10% off another drink purchase.

No, your voting status is completely irrelevant to your ability to receive freebies.
