The children seem to think today is "pee on my foot and tell me it's raining day," so I'm feeling similarly dyspeptic.

Haha, they experience that picture in the flesh every so often, so they know not to mess too much.
To their considerable credit, they regrouped and we did a brief, but substantive overview of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and its implications on the post-Cold War world especially via the lens of 9/11. Tomorrow/Monday, we'll finish discussing the Yugoslavian Civil Wars, examine the fall of Communism and the post-Cold War world order, and connect it to the present situation in Ukraine.
That means that, having begun their history curriculum in August with the dawn of civilization in Mesopotamia, they will have studied world history literally all the way up to the present day, which if I do say so, is badass. Or "slay," as the children would say these days.

    So they made "slay" happen.

Within the realm of linguistic nonsense that they routinely make happen, "slay" is as mild as my stepdad's dinner plate.

"dyspeptic" is one of my more favored words, well done.

    Hot(?) take:
I don't care how good Jason Evans (or any other critic or moviegoer) tells me it is, there's zero chance I'll see the new Top Gun. Given what I know about Scientology and the ways in which Tom Cruise benefits from it and victimizes thousands of other people, I will never again watch, let alone pay for, one of his properties.
I don't make a habit of giving my money or attention to utter scum like him.

The problem with this thread is the ambiguity in which people post their opinions. Just once I wish someone would tell us how they really feel.

Hopefully, not an electric fence. When I was an innocent lad and didn’t even know that electric fences existed, my older brother convinced me to pee on one. Unpleasant.
