Given her vocation this should be no surprise, but Bostondevil used percent chamge PERFECTLY in another thread. She even owned up to hating percent change in case someone pointed out that she is on record popping someone for it's use in another thread. I believe it was in the presidential thread but she and I both popped someone for using it incorrectly (small sample size used to make it look like something major had occurred when it had gone from an insignificant number to another insignificant number even though the percent increase was huge).

Aw shucks. Percent change does have its (very few) proper uses. I continue to be the Debbie Downer of the coronavirus thread. I can't help it. I'm not actually a Debbie Downer IRL.

I think we failed to vaccinate and will pay the price for it later.

Sadly, you are correct, assuming a rather wide definition of "we."

Yet another example of how we as a nation seem unmoved by science or reason in the face of compelling emotional arguments.

Yes. Vaxxers will get boosters eventually, but there will be pockets of breakthrough as new variants arise and hit the unvaccinated. We will get to herd immunity the hard way.

we're going with lamb burgers today, then attending a party Sunday hosted by He Who Does Not Grill (!) (bringing a sandwich to eat on the way home), and then friends over for Pork Day on Monday, grilled beer brats and pork tenderloin.

I had not fully considered pork yet. I may take a pilgrimage to my favorite salumeria in the area.
