Is this thing on?
A FB post from 8 years ago popped up my "memories" today. I mention that a Duke landmark was torn down that week. I don't say what it was. Anybody have any ideas? What did Duke tear down in June 2013?
Right now, it's beating the heat -- Seattle is at the start of an unusually long (for June-uary) heatwave, and not many folks here have A/C.
But I did come here after a long hiatus, to see the tributes to James Armstrong. Such a surprisingly devastating bit of news about someone who I've never met in person, but yet have considered to be a friend for well over 2 decades.
Birds aim.
Fight me.
I'm in Portland Oregon for three nights and then Seattle for 4. It is 80 and I can't believe how pleasant it seems here. I know they have been in a heatwave, but anything below 90 is a gift for East Coasters. We are just going to miss scorching hot temperatures here.
Whoa, Ben Wallace got old and gray!
Yes. Yellow jackets ambush. They evened up the score on me this evening.
They had built a nest right above the 🚪 on my screened porch and would hover around as I was going in and out. So, unfortunately, I had to eliminate the nest. While mowing the lawn(yes, reel mowing has jumped the shark) near a crepe myrtle, I felt a sharp jab at the base of my skull in the hairline right above my neck. As I spun around trying to identify the source, what should I see? A yellow jacket hovering right out of reach.
Yellow jackets 1, YBT 1.
