    Read Red Fern. Great book!

Saw the movie of The Book Thief. Yes, a devastating movie.

I cried my brains out during Snoopy Come Home.

Nothing compared to The Neverending Story. One of the most invasive ear worms of all time, combined with the trauma of the Swamps of Sadness.

Rewatched this recently on a sick day. Yikes.

Stranger Things Season 3 Finale cracked me up!

The Neverending Story is the stuff of frickin’ nightmares. I have seen the whole thing, but never in one sitting, and I never will. That movie gives me the deep-down creeps.

But, yeah, when the horse goes down, I was open-mouthed, snot-dripping bawling as a child. It was not pretty and I cannot promise if I rewatched it today, the same would not happen.
Ha! I watched Labyrinth the same day. It isn't as traumatic for me personally as TNES.

to say I had a crush on Jennifer Connolly might be an understatement.

I love Labyrinth for presumably obvious reasons.

Happy to report that, maybe midway through the first act or so of The Secret of NIMH, the kiddos are—dare I say—transfixed.

Maybe I watched both too young but there is some scary stuff in both! Bowie and his puppets, man. Of course at that age I had no idea who Bowie was.

She is, but the Snowpiercer diet has made her a bit gaunt looking of late.

Bowie's tight pants affected a different segment of our generation in a similar way that later Jennifer Connelly movies affected some of the rest of us, I understand.

It might not work as well after having seen the movie, but (as often happens) the book is better.

Not a chance I’ll ever read that book (see my comments about the film adaptation).

The book is quite good. Movie covers about fifty percent of the book.

Did you feel the same after Requiem for a Dream?

Or is that one of those COVID-to-flat-tire comparisons?

Never saw it. As a reference she and I were both 15 when Labyrinth came out, but she is an older woman. December '70 to my March '71.
