I have zero emotional attachment to New Jersey and very little experience there. I've flown through many times and maybe spent three nights there.

I did have one super fun night on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ with my brother and his kids, but other than that I do confess that New Jersey is not my favorite place.

Pretty far south...30 or so if I remember correctly?
This was part of a family RV caravan from Atlanta to Acadia, across through New England, and back. We needed a stop in New Jersey in order to cross that state off my wife's list (getting close...).

Honestly, this was more Maryland in feel than Philly or NYC. It was certainly my favorite night I've ever spent in Jersey.

The stretch of 95 between DC and NYC may be my least favorite section of highway in America...and I’ve driven through 47 states.

Much of 95 is...not scenic.
I largely share your sentiments about the stretch in question, although I've only really driven it a handful of times.
I'm really not a big fan of I-75 about an hour either side of Ocala, FL.
