When I was applying for jobs a couple of years ago, I came across this a lot. The Duke Medical Center application process requires your GPA. And I saw several RTP companies who explicitly state that applicants with GPA <3.0 need not apply. Which is pretty ridiculous when the applicant has been in the workforce for 20 years and has a very successful track record.

Will they accept long haired, freaky looking people?

I've got several good friends who taught at elite institutions (coastal elites!)...they had to deal with incessant whining from some students and parents for anything less than an A, it really became tedious...how was Chadsworth Osborn V going to get into Yale Law with only a 3.8 GPA?

I guess as long as their GPAs are over 3.0.

Snows started. Still killing time. Got a ham glazing in the oven and it sure smells nice.

I know about low and slow, but at 8 degrees, that's going to take forever.

We got a couple inches before the snow turned to "wintry mix" and the roads turned into slush.

Some kids were able to a little sledding early afternoon, though, so not a complete waste.

With the grill cranked on high, it's about as quick as usual...only when you get below zero do things really start to slow down...five minutes per side for the swordfish, and down the hatch it went.

It’s the last day of the semester, so I was already down to the real bottom-of-the-barrel, dog and pony material. 3/4 of my students learning (playing it fast and loose with that word today...) virtually.
Aaaaaand then the power went out all across our entire campus. 2020 gonna 2020 one last time, I guess.

Well as of Saturday afternoon, I’ll be 2020ing in the sand next to Listerine-colored water, so at that point 2020 can do what it will and I’ll just have another piña colada.

Ugh. Power out and message says they're hoping to be back up between 5-10pm.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'
