    Hhmmmm. Nice try.

I hope everyone knows I did NOT mean the LTE. This thread always proves it's worth.

I’m busily preparing my basement for my New Year celebration. It involves getting our dogs’ beds and toys moved there to escape the fireworks, which terrifies them. Actually, I prefer hanging out with my puppy-kids to any of the wilder alternatives.

Weezie may get voted off the island — unless she wins her primary.

After 7+ years of fireworks, my cats generally ignore them now. But the first couple of years we were here it was a mess.

Trying to make bialys for the first time, I think I may have left the dough too soft. Find out in a few hours I guess.

I got to “punch down dough” a few times this morning. New year off and rocking.

    Recipe I am trying: https://www.food.com/recipe/brooklyn...-kucken-231195

Into the oven, four hours after starting. Dough softer than it should be so may be kinda flat.

Happy New Year, LTE and DBR!

Crockpot chili is the order of the day here.

Are they sweet and salty OPK? More one than the other?

More like a big flattish yeast roll than anything.

Cut it in half, added cream cheese and smoked salmon. DaughterPK just ate it straight up. SonPK has his with Nutella.

Pretty flexible. Mrs.PK is making lasagna for tonight, so will use a few for garlic bread.

Mediumish pot of Hoppin' John into the oven here.

No success with the boxed corn muffins. I should have been more daring.

(Just a structural integrity issue. Maybe I should have waited longer to remove them from the muffin tin?)

We’re the sides not crusty enough to hold it in form, or was it just too crumbly?
