Popped a tire on the way to work this morning. Love starting my day off changing a tire![]()
My latest vehicle doesn't even have a spare tire. They have a fix a flat in a can system. I'm sure it came about as they were trying to save weight in hopes of complying with ever higher CAFE standards.
For lunch today I'll be having...a nap.
I gots nothin'. Dropped off the office vacuum cleaner at the repair shop this morning.
Doesn't get more glam than that.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'
Driving question for you: You are in a left turn lane that has its own light - a green arrow. It doesn't turn to a flashing yellow arrow when the lanes going straight through the intersection turn green. If you are sitting there, along with other cars, through multiple cycles of the light without the green arrow coming on, what do you do?
a. keep waiting until it does
b. run it if there is a break in the traffic coming toward you
c. switch lanes and go straight until you can make a UTurn to come back
How many cycles do you wait?
Stupid light!
Don't throw a shoe at me for asking a stupid question, but -- are you on top of the traffic loop sensor? A lot of times, the arrow fails to work because the car is pulled too far forward to be on the loop pad and therefore it does not know someone is waiting.
Otherwise, either b or c whichever is safer under the conditions. If I sat through one or two full circuits, I make my move.
“I do not think that word means what you think it means.”
At one point, there was a line of 5 cars waiting so I'm pretty sure there was something over the sensor or within camera view. Not sure how the light is triggered - in ground sensor or camera above the light. It is not a posted red light camera spot.
Should you factor in whether you really want to go to work or not?![]()
You would still be liable for running the red if you went. If that is a concern, getting into the next lane and bypassing the faulty signal is your best bet. Along with reporting the issue.
I know, boorrriiinnngggg.
How long should I wait?
