My new favorite things is Hot Ones on YouTube. A guy interviews guests while they both eat progressively hotter chicken wings.
Anyone else see this? It is great, although the language is not always suitable for polite company.

Lost dogs keep finding me.
Mama and Papa Turk have decided it's time to downsize after almost 55 years in the old Turk roost. (7 people + 4 bedrooms + 1 bathroom = good times!) The nest is decluttered, painted, cleaned up, and ready for the sign in the front yard. It's been a weird mix of emotions these last few months. There's the obvious nostalgia, fond memories, and familiar stories about growing up, being essentially free-range kids, where any place we could get to on a bike was fair game, as long as we were home in time for supper. My siblings and I had a decent-sized paper route, so we knew everyone in the neighborhood, and everyone knew us.
Alas, the last few decades have not been kind, as the neighborhood and the schools have deteriorated far beyond the ability of local leaders to stop or even slow down the damage. I am also carrying a surprising amount of both rage and sadness at the two or three critical political decisions that went the wrong way, the final nails in the coffin. With a couple of breaks, there could have been a chance for a story of renewal: convenient location, good transportation, cobblestone streets lined with three-story Victorian houses with big porches, 12 foot ceilings, stained glass transoms, and bay windows restored to mint condition. Alas, it didn't happen, just another inevitable Rust Belt neighborhood implosion, and now it's time to go...
<Insert clip of me driving Papa Turk's rusty old Ford Ranger pickup past boarded up houses, the hoop courts and baseball fields where I used to play, and the old parish school, with Springsteen's "My Hometown" or "My City of Ruins" playing in the background...>
Oh Turk, it's a sad day. Many of us have gone through what you're dealing with now. It sounds sappy but the memories aren't going anywhere and the laughs will return. I still drive by our old house whenever I get back to the D.
Toast the memories tonight!
Too much time watching football this morning. I skipped most of the group play(no FS1) but am making up for it now.
How does everyone like their coffee?
