I had two things that I really wanted in life when I was 17 - to be accepted to Duke and for Duke to win a national championship in basketball.

Well, they both happened, though one may not have occurred in the time frame you were hoping for.

Indeed. As I've said before in other threads, maybe even this one, I'd trade 2010 for 1986 if I could.

    Yup, in a heartbeat.

I'm guessing the 2010-13 alums say thanks but no thanks.

I'm sure they would. Do any of them post here?

I'm not an alum from that range of years, but I would also turn down the exchange in question...April 5, 2010 is on the very short list of the best days of my life.

Not sure, but just realized that they likely were not alive in '86. At least the undergrads.

Ahhhh, late spring. A few days of nice, unexciting, cool and pretty weather but boom right into the heat and humidity of mid-Atlantic bleech weather. Thunderstorms, bugs already chowing on the kale and uuugh.
    Phooey.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

I'd be willing to let them have the kale. It is the tomatoes that would concern me.

Could be Daytona or Talladega too.

Yes, but it is Indy that is nicknamed the Crossroads of America.

Did not know that. Only knew it as a town where we won three championships.

If you need any recommendations for places to eat, just let me know.

Pop-Tarts are reasonably priced here as well.

I recall Bru Burger being superlative.

Bru has a very nice burger. My personal favorite is Kuma's Corner, but it is a unique atmosphere, that likely doesn't suit everyone

The best wings I've ever had can be found at Ale Emporium about 20 minutes north of downtown.
