The upshot of all of this has been an inordinate amount of time wearing the dreaded Cone of Shame, but the news at the latest checkup yesterday was good. For a time, there was concern that if Walter's nail didn't grow back, he would have to have a toe amputated, because an exposed quick is an invitation to chronic discomfort and infection. But at the bandage changing on Monday, there was a little bit of nail starting to poke back through. The vet now says that it'll be another while, but there is very little chance of amputation. She also says that his underlying, systemic health is very strong for his breed(s) and age.
So I'm giving thanks today. I've been very blessed with this dog.
Hoping he gets out of the Cone of Shame soon. Glad to hear the prognosis is improving.

Just one of those long days of sighing and eye rolling. Yep.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

    Reading the EK board again?

But, no. That's usually eye sighing and gag lollying.

I notice there isn't a lot of posting between 2 and 3:30 AM. I wonder why that is?

Looks like I picked a good day to not watch basketball.

I will, however, split infinitives with reckless abandon.

An hour walk and some personal news puts today's game in perspective. I wonder if I should venture on to the EK board or would I just be rubbernecking?

By the way, this could be the year of 6.

Nick Saban won his 6th National Championship.

Tom Brady could get his 6th Super Bowl ring.

Coach K could get his 6th National Championship.

I'm comfortable that we are in a good spot.

    Same here!

The good personal news was earlier in the week. This less favorable news was one of those reminders that time is precious.
