I remember where I was when they faked the moon landing. The actor that took the first step was really nice and gave me his autograph*.

I recently decided that I could buy a new pair of hiking boots, since my Timberlands turn 23 years old this fall. And are still good shoes, though I will designate those more for yard work now. Bought my first Merrells. Have not had a chance to break them in, yet. I may have to check out Hokas. I have had really good luck with Asics and New Balance over the years for "sneakers".

The combination of shag carpets and polyester leisure suits led to too many accidental deaths from static electrical shock.

Oh, and because disco kills all that is otherwise good in the world.

I'll throw my hat in for Allbirds for everyday walking around. I don't trust them for exercising, for which I wear Saucony, but the Allbirds are like walking on a puffy cloud.

You don't see any brown cars from the factory any more. That is a tragedy.

ah, glad you also have a shoe hierarchy. I have my primary walking/running shoes, the previous pair of which are designated for backup duty (rain, muddy conditions) and after that off they go for lawnmowing and yard work.

I'm hard pressed to come up with a better popular album released during my undergrad days than Mary Chapin Carpenter's Come On, Come On. Nirvana's Nevermind? Ok. REM's Out of Time? Maybe? U2 Achtung Baby? Maybe a song or two? Public Enemy? Ok. Sorry, that's my short list.

Speaking of, where are we that hype person for the thread?

I was listening to Public Enemy when I started my walk this morning oh, but I have moved on to the fresh air podcast.

The funny thing is that it is everywhere these days and marketed as high performance.
