I have few. Although I did just pick up a growler of Seminar’s Megapixels from Florence, SC to go with the burgers and brats I’m grilling tonight with some friends. Yum.

To 1971 Trans Am or not to 1971 Trans Am, that is the question...

I've found Moscow Mules to be a delightful warm-weather cocktail. I might even go so far as to acquire a set of the proper copper cups...

And Mrs. Turk finds herself losing her taste for ...eer as well. She has been putting a sploosh of rum in those Bai coconut pineapple beverages you can buy at the store...

    That's an excellent question!

I'm thinking I might like to own a two-door jeep or other open-air vehicle if / when we can get a young Turk or two off the payroll...

My group number is excused from jury duty tomorrow. Is it weird that I am kind of bummed out by this?

Does your employer let you keep the jury pay?

Today looks like the lasy sweltering day for a bit. Tomorrow's high is 15 degrees cooler. Sheesh.

Not at all. I think I would have the same reaction. Served on a jury once, and would not shy away from doing it again. It's nice that most places have advance notice to minimize the chance of sitting in the courthouse all day doing nothing.

By the way, what's the going rate for jury pay these days?

In Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth pays $9.00 for the first 3 days, and $25 per day beyond. We also get 0.17 cents per mile. How quaint.

oops, sloppy typing on my part.

I should have said $9.00 for EACH of the first three days, not $9.00 total. Also, it's 17 whole cents per mile, not 0.17 cents.

(No wonder Mtn Devil said "Yikes!!")

One of the few benefits of getting old - no more jury duty. I guess they think we might not be around for a whole week, or at least can’t stay awake for a whole day of court.
