That might have been the Peter Principle in action...but when people would tell me what a cool job that must have been, having the big hot dog all around you, all I could think of was how crappy those vehicles are to drive. I can only assume
Winnebagos are more driver friendly than they were in the 1970s, because that thing was NOT fun to drive at all, some kind of Chrysler-Plymouth chassis that incorporated all the harrowing effects and shoddy quality of American cars during that ugly era. Almost killed me once with a stuck accelerator on a snow covered road.
I would have loved having John Madden as a driving companion, but I did have Harvey the Husky, a heroic companion in his own right.
