My husband gets back today. As I told you here before, I decided to sample my way through his liquor in celebration of both his birthday and Valentine's Day as a sort of long distance celebration on my part. I like Devil's Run bourbon better than Laphroaig scotch. But the Bulleit 95 Rye? Not a fan. I think I'd drink Laphroaig again before I'd drink the Bulleit again. I may have to sample both to decide. But will I? It is much more likely that I walk over to the liquor store today and buy another bottle of a single malt (not a peaty one) to sample with the hubby when he gets home.

Where's the Ymm, Aged Meat thread?

Never cared much for rye. Single malts and bourbon!

I am a fan of Angel's Envy Rye, finished in rum barrels. The rum tone really gives it a sweet finish.

Ha, this has a certain Black Widow vibe to it...

Hmmm, OK, but without the killing and eating.

Wife's picking up burritos from our burrito place. They're okay but they have a 5 selections of salsa, each one of which is excellent.

Let's see if I can remember them in order of spice level:

Red Wine Onion Salsa (very mild but silky onions)
    Pico De Gallo
    Salsa Verde
    Salsa Roja
Then...hmm, some sort of really hot salsa. Can't remember the name. It's good though.

My personal favorite burrito place is Flaming Amy's in Wilmington. It really is unbelievable.

    Smothered or wrapped in foil?

I like both but a big burrito smothered in chile with a big chewy tortilla is hard to beat.

I like both Styles but I more like the wrapped in foil iteration.

Went there for the first time last November. Went for the second time a few days later.

It was closed early in the pandemic, but their Asian bowl is even better. Not sure if it is open now or not.

About 50% of Texas electricity generation is from natural gas and 20% wind. Both well-heads and turbines are frozen.

Everything matters, but cheese is my favorite part of the burrito. Sour cream and guacamole are up there on the power rankings as well. And any meat other than turkey.
