I'm not coming down from this tree until Atticus agrees to play football for the Methodists.

Actually, "those guys" are great. That's why I'm bummed. Beat out by a native speaker of a language I'm not as proficient at. Fair choice, but disappointing.

    Bridgewater College campus shooting

    https://abcnews.go.com/US/active-sho...ry?id=82603576

My paternal grandmother's family goes way back in Bridgewater, VA. My great-great grandfather was on the Board of Directors of BC very early on in the late 1800's. My great grandmother graduated from BC in 1896.

Small Brethren school. Very sad to hear this happening anywhere, but especially heartbreaking here. The Brethren are known pacifists, very close to the Mennonites.

Update: Both campus cops killed. No words.

I have a friend and co-worker who played football at Bridgewater before going on to grad school at Va. Tech. He had not heard this when I let him know. He graduated a while back, he's in his late 30s now.

Why do babies get so pissed before falling asleep? It’s like they’re in a fight.

Very sad. My wife is a VT grad. Their shooting hit home more than others. It’s always somewhere else until it isn’t.

Speaking of close to home stories, a Duke grad and PhD was arrested after threatening violence against fellow professors at UCLA where he was lecturing.
