Does this make me a horrible person?

Is it bad that this headline made me laugh out loud?

The Onion is going to have a hard week coming up with a fake headline to top that one.

I beg of you, DA, do NOT joke about John Denver, lest you incur the wrath of Wilson.

Hmm... now that I look at the link, perhaps we ought to check Wilson's whereabouts.

FWIW, Wilson, when I was in SoCal, I passed by a stretch of road that is supported by the Friends of John Denver Society. Was it there where he tried out his experimental plane?

    AWESOME!!! FANTASTIC!!! WOO HOO!!! CONGRATS!!!

    How are your knees?

Before long runs I would pop some ibuprofen to alleviate expected pain (I can sense the hair on the back of greybeard's neck standing up ).

    Keep up the good work!!!

It went well, I think; thanks for asking. Still waiting to hear if I'm going to get an offer. I don't necessarily want to move, but this would be an amazing job. Too good to pass up, in fact. According to US News, Wash U Med School is 4th in the country for medical research. This type of opportunity doesn't come along every day.

Thanks! They mostly held up and the even better news is they aren't hurting now. I do think I need to dedicate a little more time to the weight room for the next couple of weeks.

Good luck with you job decisions.

I've picked a pattern now I'm looking for just the right yarn. Just so you and Tilly and billy know, I'm shooting for Christmas '08 with the scarves. I've got patterns in mind for all three!

Glad the knees aren't hurting. Hope your luck holds out!

Thanks for the best wishes and also for the scarf update. If I end up in St. Louis, it will definitely be a good thing to have! It was a wee bit cold there last weekend.

    Wow, just... wow.

I say this in part because I don't think I've run 15 miles - in total - since 1999. And you did it in one day. And intend to do more. Crazy.

    You go, girl!

Second page? What's up with that?!

Is it time for the longest thread ever to end?

Make that 4. Should we shoot for an even number?

    Talking Now, now

Spring Cleaning warnings aside for a second, this is still the best meta-thread out there, and helps us maintain our spirit of community. I'd hate to see the cameraderie fall apart.

If you go to the PPB and EKing fora, you might wind up getting caught in the Duke Hatred Tsunami or the Spitzer/Obama/Clinton/McCain threads.

Having said that, what a sight it was to see EarlJam back in form today!! SHAMPOO POLLS!! Classic!!

Be careful ... we might have to pull up links to absurd dances by basketball coaches! Or worse, perhaps we can call up the BADGER, BADGER, BADGER link.

This thread will never die. It may someday fall off the first page for longer than a couple of hours, but it will always come back. I will always post in it on the anniversary of the day I started it and when I'm gone, I'll instruct my sons to continue the tradition. Long live the LTE!

Hoorah, a new poster to the LTE! I was beginning to think there were only about 12 of us who bothered to open the thing.

Pancakes are good -- my hubbie's brunch specialty is chocolate chip pancakes, slathered with crunchy peanut butter and maple syrup. Yeah, I thought it was strange at first too, but it's really tasty!
