October is actually a great time to go. Perfect temperature. Great chances of seeing Rainier from the city.
October is a great time to visit a lot of places, including NC, VT and WA. Probably my favorite time on the Outer Banks...

I went with the hubby to a conference (long time ago now) in Munich, Germany. They were suffering one of their worst heat waves ever, more than a week straight of temperatures over 85. The Germans were all miserable. Ron and I came up with a decent response, I think, "Now do you understand why Americans like ice in their drinks?"

October in Vermont is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but that's when everybody else goes to Vermont.

    Right, budworm?

I went to the British Virgin Islands in October once. It's their "off season" because that's the one time of the year when the winds die down and the mosquitoes breed. Put on some bug spray and have Virgin Gorda to yourself? Yes, please. (We stayed on Great Camanoe, looking down on Marina Key, but took the boat over to Virgin Gorda one day while we were there.)

I went to Seattle once, in 1989, for some sort of basketball tournament. Don’t remember much about that trip. Wasn’t fun.

    Heartbreak City.

(But for me personally, not as bad as Dallas.)

I've been to Seattle in all kinds of weather. Lived there for a bit. Would love to spend summers there.

Vandy named their Covid-19 tracking effort the Public Health Unified Command Center or PHUCC for short.

After a coulle days they adjusted it to PHCC. Juvenile me got quite a few laughs out of the whole thing.

It's raining here right now although I don't think it's supposed to last all day.
