IMHO, they really need to throw in some fake red food coloring in there. I have no idea what it is supposed to be. Of course, we have the bright red Big Red here in Texas and I've never had a swig.

Neither had my son-in-law (from Michigan, currently lives in Indiana), until I introduced him to it. He now loads up his car with 12 packs of it when he visits us. When we visit them, the first thing he asks is “how much Cheerwine did you bring me?”

(There is a concoction popular in the Gastonia, NC area which is a mixture of Cheerwine and SunDrop which is quite good. I believe some cherries 🍒 might be blended in as well.)

Gonna hit 100 degrees today. Summer's here and the time is right for dancing in the streets . . . .

Not out of the 80’s here. That picture is of a ‘70s icon however.

Happy 4th a bit early to my fellow inmates here.

Heading up to the D for some terrible baseball but a pretty sublime polish sausage with kraut and onions and mustard at Comercia. Shows my age that this is such a rare treat, sighhh.

I love the United States of America!
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

And that is part of the problem.

I agree. One of my kids loved it when he was in middle school but the rest of them never really went for that brand of humor. I loved it when I was in middle school too.

I enjoyed Mad for a few years but eventually grew out of it.

Reality has made satire more and more difficult.

    That may be false reality.

I read an article about a year ago about the producers of The Onion, and their lament that reality has merged with satire to the point that it was hard to do their work.

    Now that's funny.

And it makes me realize that The Onion long ago replaced Mad Magazine for me as a go to place for satirical humor. Probably for a lot of other people too. Might be one of the reasons Mad is going away.
