Not often you hear that. Usually people wish movies were shorter.

I wrote a play about an artist one time. It has the line "You aim for Picasso and you wind up Leroy Neiman!"

When I workshopped it, only about 2 people got that joke. I was told several times that I should take it out because hardly anybody was going to get it. I stubbornly left it in, because, well, I put it in for those 2 people in the first place.

Yeah I'm kind of oblivious to that kind of stuff.

OK, I'm now 21 posts in 4th place. That's enough for tonight.

I was all excited, thinking, "I loved him in Adventures in Babysitting," but then I looked it up, and that was Keith Coogan.

But that's cool that this Coogan is your cousin (if that's true.)

I gave everyone in the office the heads-up notice that tomorrow I shall be leaving work early and that I will be unavailable during the game. Best part is, I'm on-call for escalated support... except during the game.

Hmmm...12 years is a bit of a difference but if you didn't know them from before it is a bit easier not to see them as a kid. There is a certain line that gets crossed somewhere in the mid-20's as far as maturity goes IMHO. Some people cross it early, others don't cross it ever.

You'll be safe from me for a few days, probably. But the weekend - watch out.

    I'll second that!

I made a cake and brought it to work today (a chocolate pound cake with Kahlua added to it) to celebrate the 9 month anniversary of my liberation from my last job.

I love stuff like that! Count me in the group of people would wouldn't get the joke but would be curious enough to go find out. I mentioned earlier that I was a huge fan of Gilmore Girls, and it was because of all the rapid-fire dialog and obscure pop culture references.
