I guess the best information will come Tuesday on Mike Elko’s broadcast. Hope for great medical care. Belin and Loftis have to step up immediately

With it being a bye week, in the past, the coach also took a bye from his weekly radio show.

    True.

    Grantland Rice is dead.

Duke can beat the farmers if the backup plays decently and the defense shows. FSU is a loss anyway, so the season is not lost.

    I disagree with the bolded.

But clearly, the quicker he heals up and gets back in game shape the better.

Unless Pete Thamel identifies his source as someone from Duke football, I would be hesitant to embrace his report.

Funny... I didn't see an "L" next to FSU on the schedule. Glad the team didn't make a similar assumption about Clemson.

Well, Belin was perfect against Lafayette.

And no game is a guaranteed loss. Ask Boston College about how unbeatable FSU is.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."

With a healthy Riley, I disagreed with that view after Week 2. They aren't a top 5 team.

I'm pleasantly surprised that is all after the way he was screaming after the injury. No, I don't think Riley is a coward. That reaction most often means his season is over.

The Chronicle is confirming that Riley’s injury is a high ankle sprain and is being evaluated “week to week”: https://t.co/Bq2LJYXcNh

Maybe Duke's engineering students can come up with something to aid Riley... like they did for Daniel's clavicle fracture... if I remember correctly, Daniel came back rather quickly given the injury. He was also week-to-week. [disclaimer... I don't even know what a high ankle sprain is... ]

Ankle sprains when someone rolls up on you like that hurt really bad. It’s bizarre, had a similar injury and the pain level was much worse than tearing the Achilles, yet the recovery is completely different and takes about a year after Achilles surgery. Ligaments versus tendon. Of course if you’re a pro player nowadays with the rehab players like Durant and Rogers can come back much sooner and with greater chance of success (being close to 99%). Riley just most likely needs a fews and some good taping the rest of the season.

After some time, I’m less discouraged with the coaching at the end. Granted, felt staying aggressive was the best chance to win. I bet the coaches wish they didn’t get so clock focused but in the end they did put Duke in a great position to win. That missed tackle for potential safety, and the 4th and 16 scramble were unlucky. Give credit to the ND QB for staying poised. That’s my nice way of getting over the frustration of that ending. Plus the extra cocktails I had tonight. Cheers!

Precisely, on all accounts - except the saying is, "don't count your horses before they hatch" - just so you know.

Ugh. The best use of this post would be to print it out and put it up in the locker room.

I know little about high ankle sprains. Would you elaborate on “fews”? I assume others will chime in — to agree, disagree, whatever — after you say more about “fews.”

Crystal ball, tea leaves or did he have someone interpret the arrangement of pimples on his I'm a real wanker for saying this.I'm a real wanker for saying this.I'm a real wanker for saying this. to come up with that prediction? Sorry but his post strikes me as simple trolling and not very imaginative at that.

Apparently, the ND coach didn't want them to score a TD with 30 seconds left and would have preferred the RB go down at the 1 to waste time and setup the game winning FG as time expired basically. That would have also saved Riley from his injury. Cruel cruel world sometimes...hope Leonard is back relatively soon.

He must have had his money on Duke.

(The line was 5.5 when I saw it).
