Well, your DBs go 45 yards deep if the opposing receivers are going 45 yard deep. Don't really want them going 16 yards and all the receivers are wide open behind them. (Don't recall any of their receivers close to the line of gain blocking anybody.)

That's why you keep a spy on the QB. Taking a scramble out of the equation is worth one less guy in coverage.

Duke averaged 116k viewers per game in 2022. Between the Clemson and ND games, we could have no one watch our games for the next few years and we would still average well over 116k.

The combination of good opponents and good time slots on major networks makes a huge difference. Plus Duke playing well and being competitive in/winning doesn't hurt, though we were pretty good in 2022 and that didn't matter much.

Well that's definitely not true because dividing the bowl game ratings by 13 gets better average viewership than that. While ACCN and the maligned RSN package were not part of the ratings process, I think that we can still safely assume that there were people watching.
