When they tore up the floor and sold it after the 96-97 season, one of the plaques they sold it on had a picture of the last game played on it (Duke-Maryland). At the time I could find myself in that picture.

I recently found a Youtube video of the Carolina game from that same season and found myself in it and showed it to my kids.

I would have been sitting in section 13 at the railing (which I don't think existed yet), but was so stressed out I had to go into the concourse, and watched the shot from the entryway of section 14.

Gene Banks and I were on adjacent pages of the freshman picture book. My claim to fame.

Y’know, somebody should make use of technology and create some sort of picture book for grown-ups, maybe a network for people who’d like to maintain/create/update friendships. They could update with envy-inducing photos, add provocative and barely-rational content, and maybe crush democracy as we know it.

Probably not feasible and definitely harmful. Forget I said anything.

As for appearances, I’d be curious what everybody looks like. Aside from those who’ve revealed names (which makes for an easy internet search), I tend to imagine nothing very specific.

But, for those who are really bored, I’d say I’m a slightly-melted cross between John Denver, Christopher Walken, and Jon Voigt.

I mean, uhm, a cross between Denzel, Scarlett Johansson, and Danny Partridge. Or maybe Virginia Woolf, TS Eliot, Bjorn Borg, Rita Moreno, and Herbert Hoover. Or maybe a combo of Beaver Cleaver, Javier Bardem, and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Hmmm. Not sure. Where’s my chat gpt when I need her?

Jon Voight, JohnB says? 5-10 years ago on numerous occasions, people who met me plus complete strangers said I looked like Jon Voight. Lessee... the only liberal in the helicopter industry compared to the only conservative in Hollywood.

One time at band camp I was mistaken for George Clooney. Someone else thought I was Tom Cruise. Fact is, my age and height fall right between the two.

I am the most handsome of the group, however.

Low bar. Nothing to brag about.

From a distance I have been mistaken for a young Alex Karras.

Up close, sometimes it's an older Mini-Me.

Reuters was kind enough to include a photo of me in a story about the 2022 World Athletics Championships.

No, I am not the reigning world champion in the men's 400m hurdles. I am the guy in the front row wearing a red USA t-shirt.
