This past year would have been his 5th year exemption. He played in 2018-19 as a freshman, so 2020-21 would have been his junior year, meaning he would have two years thereafter (so 2021-22 and 2022-23).
UNLESS he suffered the same injury that cost him his 2021-22 season, in which case next year would be his 6th year COVID (and medical) exemption (but 5th season actually playing).
Next year is the Hurt/Carey/Moore/Stanley 5th year COVID exemption year.
