“State of North Carolina bans use of Satanic imagery in school mascots”
I've been duped by an April Fool's story on the front page before. The one that I fell for the hardest was a fake story years ago that Roy Williams had abruptly retired.
Which potential April Fools headline would be believable enough that you'd fall for it:
-Proctor, Roach, Flip, and Mitchell all decide to return
-Lively decides to return
-Hubert Davis gets fired
-Hubert Davis quits
-Love comes back to UNC
-Ian Jackson decommits
-Scheyer gets an extension
-Scheyer signs off on a renovation of Cameron that reduces overall capacity and adds luxury suites above the student section
-Arch Manning switches his commitment to Duke

'When I got on the bus for my first road game at Duke, I saw that every player was carrying textbooks or laptops. I coached in the SEC for 25 years, and I had never seen that before, not even once.' - David Cutcliffe to Duke alumni in Washington, DC, June 2013
The one that got me was maybe ten years ago and reported that Duke and UNC were headed to the SEC.
‘Duke Hires Cus d’Amato* as MBB assistant coach’
John Scheyer announces the late Cus d’Amato as newly created Pugilist Coach for the Duke Blue Devils MBB team.
‘We are pleased to have Cus on our sidelines. It has become obvious that we need more work keeping our hands high and our feet in motion. Cus brings the ‘everybody has a plan until they are hit in the mouth’ mindset, and will help our team mold into what the NCAA wants to see for its ratings’.
*Apologies to the late Cus.
