Just a masterclass on defense. The complete opposite of what we saw in this matchup last year. I’m so shocked and happy.

In addition to everything else he did, Lively held Bacot to two points in 2nd half

Hell yeah!!!!!! Roach and Lively were GREAT! Flip and Proctor were so clutch in the first half. Lively completely took the cheats drives away, has in erased them. Duke played the perfect game to beat these guys! After last year, SO HAPPY!!! Let’s go Duke!!!!

That was a grind because of our offense but the defense was even better than it looked because of some unlucky bounces/trips on defense rebounds.

I don't wanna hear any more moaning about Lively II from here on out. You hear me? 😁

We have had an " Austin Rivers Game" against Kerolina; now we will forever have a " Derek Lively II Game !"

Really happy the way they played. Very good defense n little fouling as well. They played a very good up tempo game n when they had the opportunities to run out with the ball they did!

Without a doubt. But, Flip playing strong and coming back in was also huge. Bacot is a talented shover, but he couldn't shove 'em both!!

Congrats, Coach and Team ... Great win!!

Great win for a young team, hopefully a seminal game that builds confidence. Lively was spectacular.

Nest up, Miami. They will be tough and forced a lot of turnovers today.

    Let's go Duke!

    As Hannibal Would Say

I love it when a plan comes together.

How fun was it to see Lively get so much praise and the post-game interview, after his struggles to start the year! I’m sure it’s been hard for him to tune out the negativity, but boy, did he pick a great game to assert himself and live up to the expectations!

I am so happy…for the players, coaches, and for us fans!

What a moment for this team.

What a game for Lively. If we get something near this neighborhood we are a different team.

    Roach and Proctor and Flip.

    Mitchell and Grandy.

    So so great.

It wasn’t a thing of beauty offensively, but the defense really came to play. Especially Lively. I was almost sure he would get a double double. This is the guy who was the #1 recruit. It is great to see him finally putting it together. Such a gamechanging presence when he is dialed in.

Not the most efficient game from Roach, but man did he make some big plays late. Really happy for him to get the win.

A couple of big threes off the bench from Grandison.

A mostly solid game from Proctor.

But what a great moment for this young team. Hopefully this helps build their confidence moving forward.

And heck, suddenly the ACC regular season is in play.

Or Coach Scheyer. Make this a "no elephant" zone.
