Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022

Inductees won't be announced until May, but this will finally be the year that Pat Benatar gets inducted. Enshrined is probably a better word.

Among the "notable" Rock And Roll chicks that got in before her: Whitney Houston, Joan Baez, Donna Summer...all supremely talented women, but hardly paragons of rock. When it comes to true Rock Chick Superstars, there's Chrissie Hynde, Ann Wilson, and Pat Benatar, and then everyone else.

Eurythmics, with the greatest female voice of all time (Annie Lennox for the uninitiated), had better make it as well finally.

I was so excited when the Hall was announced, but seriously, the R&RHOF is a joke. They need to take Rock and Roll out of the name. Just call it the General Popular Music, Mostly (But Not Exclusively Non-Country) Kinda Rock, Hall of Fame.

Without Little Feat or Warren Zevon, it’s a fraud.

You're getting no argument from me.

Thought we could use some distractions this week.

Somehow Ringo Starr made it in for his solo career. And Yoko didn't.

No Joan Jett? I guess me and my kids are the only ones who love rock and roll.

(Joan Jett is where they learned about a jukebox, baby)

I dunno. Foreigner taught me a lot about being a jukebox hero. And The Kinks know it’s only jukebox music.

Sometimes I hate myself for loving them.

I'm going to add a Janice to the list.

Yes, add Janis. That makes the Mount Rushmore. Joan Jett is a bit below those four. IMO.

Yikes, maybe they should relax and go to a biannual enshrinement. And since biannual is so often mistaken for twice a year, I'd say once every three years would suffice.

So unplug the jukebox, and do us all a favor
That music's lost its taste, so try another flavor

“My body's in this room with you just catching hell
While my soul is drinking beer down the road a spell
You might think I'm listening to your grocery list
But I'm leaning on the jukebox and I'm about half ... way there

“A clown puts his makeup on upside down
So he wears a smile even when he wears a frown
You might think I'm here when you put me down
But actually I'm on the other side of town.”

Are you messin' with us? Iron Maiden was nominated last year and didn't get in, and are not nominated this year. Still holding a grudge, or did you mean Judas Priest?

I think Dolly Parton knocked them off the nomination list this year.

Did fidel mean Janis Joplin? Because when I see the name "Janice" in the context of rock and roll, a different one comes to mind:

Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Can you picture that?

Iron Maiden are part of this year’s fan vote, so very much in the running.

It will come as no surprise to anyone who’s paid a lick of attention to my posts over the years that I enthusiastically co-sign the above.

Not from what I'm seeing. Is why I thought you might have meant Judas Priest.
