Probably underappreciated, comedic genius, daring groundbreaker. The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour was over my head (c'mon, I was only 5), but watching repeats or youtube I quickly realized what I had missed in real-time.

A damn shame. Loved the Smothers Brothers. They were also always pushing the envelope and getting themselves into trouble with the media because they had political opinions and weren't afraid to express them. Tommy was very opposed to the Vietnam War and didn't try to hide it.
But it was the brilliant comedy that drew us in. 'I meant to do that.' Classic stuff.
Somehow I thought he passed away years ago
