it has a little to due with player development but much more due to do with only having 8 returning oline guys next year and that includes the 3 freshman from last year. if you add the 3 incoming that is only 11 schollies and that is way to few. we had 16 last year and still had to play freshman because of multiple injuries. you need to have a three deep on both lines.

sure, but that's some round about reasoning since we SHOULD have Carr and Gelotte contributing next year, so we would have more than 8 returning OL guys..when redshirt juniors contribute nothing, that's a player development issue...

anyway, let's hope the guys Elko recruits turn out to be keepers ...good thing is we already have two good OL via the portal at this point, hopefully more to come...

oline recruiting has been an issue for years. you must sign 4-5 guys every year and duke simply doesnt. 2023 only 3. 2022 only 3. 2021 only 2 and one of those plays te. 2021 we got 4. thats only 12 guys over 4 years and every kid doesnt pan out out the level we recruit at. hopefully the new staff has a better eye for talent and can develop these kids.

preferred walk on at this point, but he started 20 straight games for Penn and other teams such as Wisconsin and UCLA were wanting him as well, so this sounds good (plus he's apparently a Wharton kid and we all know how great they are!)
