Two dumb fouls
Young is scrappy and hits his free throws.
Two dumb fouls
Mitchell with the two handed slam. He can soar. His athleticism is a spectacle to watch.
Gave 5 points away by dumb fouls. Maybe Mitchell will get going now. Bad decisions blew the end of the half.
Terrible decision to give Whitehead the ball on that last possession- should have waited till 10 seconds on the shot clock
Weak end of half by Duke. Unprepared, by Scheyer, presumably, for the double team. Disappointing that someone as strong as Whitehead would be muscled into a walk. Up by 8 with ball and favorable clock, they blew 2 points.
Agree, but we have to be pleased overall with the half coming off yesterday. It was a weird half, we were completely locking them up but unable to score. Lively gets that second foul and they start getting and hitting all kind if clean looks from 3. Then, Whitehead gets us off the schneid with that 3, and Roach decides to become NCAA Roach.
Those two fouls did give them life, which is annoying, and that botched last sequence is also annoying, but we look pretty good. Xavier is solid, let’s start the second half well.
Mark Mitchell is so darn intriguing. I see some Justise Winslow in him. Heck of a recruit.
Now that is Duke Basketball. Something going in the Right Direction.
Great start to the 2nd half. Flip struggling a bit but Mitchell on fire!
I don’t know how Mark makes those 3’s but he does!
The Nike lickspittling is of a muchness.
Offense has lost it’s energy.
Sloppy with Proctor at the helm.
Proctor what a disaster. Hesitates misses the shot, loses his man and gives up a layup. Then he is scared to shoot and throws it away with a terrible pass.
Flip has really hurt the team this half and Proctor just is not good on offense. Letting Xavier off the hook when we had a chance to really extend the lead.
Xavier's D is good so deserves some credit but...man we look like a young team that takes a lot of bad shots on O. And we need to cut way down on the dumb "fowels"
I’m super thankful NOT to be an 18yo playing basketball for Duke, based on this thread.
