for a while there, that game featured some absolutely insane 3pt shooting. Much of it was from a big, Dick, but some Morsells also were left for NC State to make.
I was very impressed by State's play thru most of the game. They matched Kansas blow for blow. Kansas would go up by a few, State would fight back to tie it. Kansas went up 8 at the half, and State immediately came back and tied it to start the 2nd. Every time that it seemed like Kansas was gonna start pulling away, State had an answer. Up until the last couple of minutes. Maybe State coulda come back again and tied it if they had a few more minutes of game time, but in real reality (h/t Jack Kerouac) Kansas made the plays in winning time that State just couldn't match. Bummer for them, but hopefully the Pack remembers how to play with that intensity throughout the year, especially vs uNC.
That Bennett guy has an eye for talent, or so I'm told. ;-)
Too bad we coulldn't hang onto Morsell. It seemed like he was going to follow the Devon Hall track and be a little bit of a late bloomer. Another casualty of the "insta-transfer" era. I'm sure he won't be the last.
to pile on a li'l bit, ESPN has an article up about why uNC is worse than you think despite having 4 of 5 starters back etc.

#1 UNC-CH leads Portland 40-38 at the half in the Phil Knight Invitational.
Wojo on the halftime show! I've been wondering what he's up to these days.
It is good to see him on the halftime show on ESPN. A few days ago, I saw him on the ACCN halftime and postgame show for a Duke game alongside Chris Spatola. Wojo seemed very well spoken, articulate, and deliberate with his remarks and analysis. He seemed like a natural at this early stage of his career.

The West Coast Conference doesn’t want to hear anything from the ACC about strength of conference for a really long time!
